→ Latte Components
05 - 2 shots espresso (2 fluid ounces), freshly brewed
06 - 1 1/4 cups whole milk or oat milk
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional for sweetness
# Directions:
01 - In a small skillet over medium-low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the thinly sliced onion, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Sauté gently, stirring occasionally, until the onions become deeply golden and caramelized, approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
02 - Transfer the caramelized onions and any remaining pan juices to a blender. Add 2 tablespoons of milk. Blend until completely smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to achieve a silky purée.
03 - Brew 2 shots (2 fluid ounces) of freshly brewed espresso using an espresso machine or strong coffee maker. Pour 1 shot into each serving cup.
04 - Add 1 tablespoon of strained onion purée to each espresso cup. Stir thoroughly to ensure even blending.
05 - Heat the remaining milk until steaming. Froth using a milk frother or whisk until creamy and foamy.
06 - Pour the frothed milk over the espresso-onion mixture in each cup. Add honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness if desired. Gently stir and serve immediately.
